October 13, 2008 (Louisville, KY) -- Organizers of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross, (USGP) have announced today that Louisville-based Papa John’s has renewed their Title Sponsorship of the USGP Derby City Cup to be held on October 25-26 in Louisville, Kentucky. The U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross (USGP) is premiere cyclocross series in the United States and features the deepest most competitive fields racing on this side of the Atlantic. Taking place at Champions Park, the USGP Papa John’s Derby City Cup races again feature as the first weekend on the 2008 USGP calendar.

October 13th, 2008 (Saratoga Springs, NY) The USGP Mercer Cup presented by Knapp’s Cyclery will host a cyclocross clinic at the campus of The College of New Jersey on Sunday, October 26th on the Green Lane fields. Beginning at 1 PM, the clinic is free but size is limited to the first 25 riders.

US Gran Prix of Cyclocross Races Named Junior / U23 Qualifiers September 23, 2008 (Saratoga Springs, NY) Organizers of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross presented by Crankbrothers, (USGP) have announced that the Mercer Cup presented by Knapp’s Cyclery and the Portland Cup presented by Stanley have been named the official U23 and Junior Worlds qualifying races and the only sanctioned UCI Junior races on the American CX calendar.

September 16, 2008 (Saratoga Springs, NY) – The series that stoked the exponential growth of cyclocross in the United States – the 2008 US Gran Prix of Cyclocross presented by Crank Brothers -- returns this fall for a fifth year of racing excitement. Registration is now open for all six days of racing including the Papa John’s Derby City Cup in Louisville, KY, The Mercer Cup presented by Knapp’s Cyclery in Mercer Co., NJ and the Portland Cup presented by Stanley in Portland, OR.

December 2, 2007 (Portland, OR) – On a day with freezing rain and wind gusts of 50 mph, Ryan Trebon (Kona-YourKey) and Georgia Gould (Luna) each won their respective races and the 2007 US Gran Prix of Cyclocross presented by Crank Brothers series championships at the Toyota Portland Cup in Portland, OR. The series win is Trebon’s second consecutive USGP title and third of his career. For Gould, this is her first USGP crown.
In the other divisions, the 2007 US Gran Prix of Cyclocross series champions are: U23 – Jamey Driscoll (FiordiFrutta); JUNIORS - Luke Keough (CLNoonan); MASTERS 35+ - Richard Feldman (Durance Cycleworks - Lehman Brothers)

December 1, 2007 (Portland, OR) – Tim Johnson (Cannondale/Leer/Cyclocrossworld.com) and Georgia Gould (Luna) each powered their way to a victory today and the series overall leads as the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross enters its final weekend at the Toyota Portland Cup in Portland, OR.
As expected, the weather was a significant factor. In the words of US Gran Prix of Cyclocross announcer extraordinaire Richard Fries…“It was a bad day for everything except cyclocross.” The bone-chilling wintry mix of snow, wind, mud and rain made it messy but seemed to be a magnet for the Portland crowds who turned out 6,000 strong.

November 29, 2007 – The US Gran Prix of Cyclocross (USGP) presented by Crank Brothers moves to the Pacific Northwest for the exciting series finale at the Toyota Portland Cup.
Taking place at the Portland International Raceway, the USGP Toyota Portland Cup will host the last two days of racing in the six-race national series and will determine the USGP Champions and who will receive an automatic USA Cycling World Championship berth. 2007 marks the fourth consecutive year Portland will play host to the USGP. November 18, 2007 (West Windsor, NJ) –Ryan Trebon (Kona-YourKey.com) and Georgia Gould (Luna) made it a weekend sweep at the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross presented by Crank Brothers -- Mercer Cup presented by Knapp’s Cyclery in West Windsor, NJ.
On a wet and cold day in New Jersey, the men and women’s field had to contend with rain, wind and slick course conditions in Mercer County Park. The miserable conditions provided a touch of drama and proved to be a key factor in each of the elite contests.

November 17, 2007 (West Windsor, NJ) – Ryan Trebon and Georgia Gould took wins in the elite races at the Mercer Cup presented by Knapp’s Cyclery – the second stop of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross presented by Crank Brothers.
On a beautiful autumn day, Mercer County Park played first time host to a UCI Cyclocross race and was considered a huge success with riders, fans and local officials alike. The course, a first-time USGP venue, was mostly flat but with some very technical areas. The distinguishing feature of the Mercer course is the long sand pit which played a pivotal role in determining the outcome of the races today.

November 12, 2007 (Saratoga Springs, NY) – Through partnerships with the series sponsors Clif Bar and Crank Brothers, organizers of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross presented by Crank Brothers have successfully taken steps to make the series as environmentally friendly as possible with the goal of making each event ‘Zero Waste.’
The goal of ‘Zero Waste’ is to divert as much solid waste as possible from landfill or incineration through recycling and composting efforts.
At each event in the six-race series, USGP organizers providing support and mechanisms onsite to reduce the amount of trash produced. At each event, there are multiple stations for recycling and composting with directional signs letting spectators know which items go in each station.

There is tremendous amount of anticipation around the national series kicking off in Louisville this year.
